Trip Overview

You’ll get a chance to take a thrilling steady climb from 2800m to 5545m. You’ll start your journey from Lukla to reach the Everest base camp and Kala Patthar. You’ll get a chance to explore Shrines, Bazaars, Temples, and Restaurants of Kathmandu. After that, you’ll take a flight to Lukla and start your unforgettable trekking journey. During the trek, you’ll get a chance to see Namche Bazaar, Kumbu Sherpas and many Buddhist Monasteries. 

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu

You’ll arrive at Kathmandu Airport where a representative of Alpine Club of Himalaya will be available to welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. You’ll be free for the day to explore this vibrant city.

Day 02: Lukla to Phakding

You’ll get an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After that, you’ll start trekking to Phakding. You’ll pass through Sherpa villages after descending through farmlands. You’ll see Pema Choling, Drandrak Gompa, and a breathtaking view of many mountains.

Day 03: Namche to 1000m ascent and 100m descent

You’ll start heading towards Namache Bazaar. You’ll cross Tok Tok to see Thamserku. You’ll pass through Sherpa villages of Chumao, Bunkar, and Monjo. After passing through the Dudhkoshi River, you’ll find your way to Sagarmatha National Park. The second part of the Namche has a tough steep climb at the end. After crossing the last village, you’ll reach the bridge for crossing the Dudhkoshi River. You’ll gain the height to get a look of Mt. Everest. Stay at Namche bazaar overnight.

Day 04: Acclimation at Namche. Trek up to Khumjung and back

You’ll get time for acclimatization, and you may explore nearby villages and savor the views of the peaks. After a while, you’ll start the climb towards a U-shaped hill besides the Gompa. After walking for a while, you’ll reach Everest viewpoint in Lhotse Shar. Khumjung is famous for its Gompa. There is also a skull of yeti as believed by the Lamas. You’ll return to Namche for a night stay.

Day 05: Trekking to Tengboche

From here you’ll take the easy trail to reach the endpoint where you get a view of the grand panorama of the peaks. From here you’ll start walking to reach Kyangjuma, Sanasa, and trail to Tengboche. This trail passes through water and Rhododendrons forests where you can see deer. You’ll reach Tengboche. The focal point of this place is the monastery.

Day 06: Trekking to Dingboche

You’ll cross the forest to Debuche Gompa which has old mural and thangkas painted on wooden panels. This trail will pass through the dense forest, after crossing it you’ll reach Ama Dablam at the end of the valley. After that, you’ll cross isolated pastures to reach herdmen’s stone huts at Tsuro Wog and Orsho. After reaching Imja Khola, you’ll start climbing a low ridge of Dingboche which is a windy and cold place.

Day 07: Trek to Nangkartsang Summit and back to Dingboche

You’ll start climbing towards Nangkartsang Gompa in the north of Dingboche. From here, you can see the three highest peaks, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Lhotse. From here you’ll continue to get a close view and return to Dingboche for night stay.

Day 08: trekking to Dughla

Find yourself in the lap of the Himalayas surrounded by mountains on all sides. From Dingboche you’ll start climbing towards Dusa village where you’ll get outstanding view of the twin peaks Cholatse and Taboche. This trail will drop down later to a glacial stream and rise up at the site of Dughla.

Day 09: Trekking to Lobuche

From Dughla you’ll reach up to Khumbu Glacier and continue to the top of the ridge on to Chupki Lhara from where you will be able to see Mt. Everest. From here you can see the blue water lake, Chola. After this, you’ll cross the final steps to reach Lobuche.

Day 10: Trekking to Gorak and EBC and back

This day will be hard. You’ll start walking on the grassy terrain to reach Thangma Riju which is level spot on the Changri Glacier. Outstanding views of the mountains will be available from up here. The trail will continue from here where you’ll first cross the Changro Glacier moraine and ascend towards Gorak Shep. Upon reaching Gorak Shep, you’ll get the first view of Kala Pathar. You’ll continue towards the Everest Base Camp walking by the blue waters of the Gorak Shep Lake. After traversing through numerous frozen pools, exposed icy walls, icefalls and glaciers, you’ll set foot at EBC (Everest Base Camp). You’ll descend back to Gorak Shep for night stay.

Day 11: Kala Ptthat to Pheriche

After breakfast early in the morning, you’ll start walking through steep zigzag trails and after walking for a while, you’ll be mesmerized by the views of Changtse, Khumbutse and Lingtren. The trail will continue up towards Kala Pathar. On the way you’ll get magnificent views of the Khumbu glacier as well as the Nuptse massif. Once you reach Kala Pathar, it would hard for you control your excitement as you’ll be amidst an amazing Himalayan panorama with the highest mountain of the world right in front of you. After spending some time, you’ll start descending towards Pheriche and rest for the night at Khumbu Khola. 

Day 12: Back to Namche Bazaar

From Pheriche, the trail will start descending towards Tsuro Wog. You’ll reach to Orsho, Shomare, and Upper Pngbocheand finally to Tengboche. The trail will descend at Kyangjuma and finally to Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Back to Lukla

On this final day, you’ll reach Lukla.

Day 14: Flight to Kathmandu

You’ll get a flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla and move to your hotel. You’ll get a whole day for rest. In the evening you can join the farewell dinner and also share your experience with friends and share photos from the trip.

Day 15: Flight Back Home

The memorable trip comes to an end. After breakfast, you’ll be dropped at the airport by a representative of Alpine Club of Himalaya. If you wish you are most welcome to extend your stay.

Good to Know

The safety of every participant is of utmost importance to Alpine Club of Himalaya. Alpine Club of Himalaya has the authority to cancel or modify the itinerary as and when required if the safety of the participants is at stake. The modifications in the itinerary can happen because natural disasters, weather conditions as well as the health condition of any member of the group. If such a situation arises, it is requested to all the participants to cooperate fully. Alpine Club of Himalaya always strives to stick to the scheduled itinerary.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu

You’ll arrive at Kathmandu Airport where a representative of Alpine Club of Himalaya will be available to welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. You’ll be free for the day to explore this vibrant city.

Day 02: Lukla to Phakding

You’ll get an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After that, you’ll start trekking to Phakding. You’ll pass through Sherpa villages after descending through farmlands. You’ll see Pema Choling, Drandrak Gompa, and a breathtaking view of many mountains.

Day 03: Namche to 1000m ascent and 100m descent

Day 04: Acclimation at Namche. Trek up to Khumjung and back

You’ll get time for acclimatization, and you may explore nearby villages and savor the views of the peaks. After a while, you’ll start the climb towards a U-shaped hill besides the Gompa. After walking for a while, you’ll reach Everest viewpoint in Lhotse Shar. Khumjung is famous for its Gompa. There is also a skull of yeti as believed by the Lamas. You’ll return to Namche for a night stay.

Day 05: Trekking to Tengboche

From here you’ll take the easy trail to reach the endpoint where you get a view of the grand panorama of the peaks. From here you’ll start walking to reach Kyangjuma, Sanasa, and trail to Tengboche. Day 08: trekking to Dughla

Day 09: Trekking to Lobuche

From Dughla you’ll reach up to Khumbu Glacier and continue to the top of the ridge on to Chupki Lhara from where you will be able to see Mt. Everest. From here you can see the blue water lake, Chola. After this, you’ll cross the final steps to reach Lobuche.

Day 10: Trekking to Gorak and EBC and back

This day will be hard. You’ll start walking on the grassy terrain to reach Thangma Riju which is level spot on the Changri Glacier. Outstanding views of the mountains will be available from up here. The trail will continue from here where you’ll first cross the Changro Glacier moraine and ascend towards Gorak Shep. Upon reaching Gorak Shep, you’ll get the first view of Kala Pathar. You’ll continue towards the Everest Base Camp walking by the blue waters of the Gorak Shep Lake. After traversing through numerous frozen pools, exposed icy walls, icefalls and glaciers, you’ll set foot at EBC (Everest Base Camp). You’ll descend back to Gorak Shep for night stay.

Day 11: Kala Ptthat to Pheriche

After breakfast early in the morning, you’ll start walking through steep zigzag trails and after walking for a while, you’ll be mesmerized by the views of Changtse, Khumbutse and Lingtren. The trail will continue up towards Kala Pathar. On the way you’ll get magnificent views of the Khumbu glacier as well as the Nuptse massif. Once you reach Kala Pathar, it would hard for you control your excitement as you’ll be amidst an amazing Himalayan panorama with the highest mountain of the world right in front of you. After spending some time, you’ll start descending towards Pheriche and rest for the night at Khumbu Khola. 

Day 12: Back to Namche Bazaar

From Pheriche, the trail will start descending towards Tsuro Wog. You’ll reach to Orsho, Shomare, and Upper Pngbocheand finally to Tengboche. The trail will descend at Kyangjuma and finally to Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Back to Lukla

On this final day, you’ll reach Lukla.

Day 14: Flight to Kathmandu

You’ll get a flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla and move to your hotel. You’ll get a whole day for rest. In the evening you can join the farewell dinner and also share your experience with friends and share photos from the trip.

Day 15: Flight Back Home

The memorable trip comes to an end. After breakfast, you’ll be dropped at the airport by a representative of Alpine Club of Himalaya. If you wish you are most welcome to extend your stay.
