Trip Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a 9 days trek in the Annapurna region. This is a short version of the Annapurna Base Camp trek, for people who don't have time for the regular Annapurna Base Camp(ABC) trek. In this venture, get ready to surprise yourself with the enchanting beauty of the 10th highest mountain in the world. It is advised for the trekkers to take some trekking experience, and maintain physical fitness before enrolling into this expedition.

The period of nine days is enough for witnessing the beautiful surrounding, stunning peaks, and the staggering Annapurna giants which circle the basin of - Annapurna 1 (8091m), Annapurna South (7273m), the Glacier Dome, Gangapurna (7454m), the unclimbed Fang (7647m), and the fishtail peak of Machhapuchhre (6997m).

The short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a mix of magnificent insights in the natural and cultural heritage of this impeccable-rooftop-Himalayan country, as it also guarantees pleasure, and fun. Nepal is undoubtedly a multi-cultural society with the most diverse ethnic groups, varied vegetation, eccentric topography, wildlife, and a peaceful environment.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, and transfer to hotel

On your day of arrival, our representative will be welcoming you at the airport by displaying your name. The concerned person will accompany you to the hotel, where you will be given a free welcome meal with an authentic taste of Nepali food, and also a cultural dance presentation.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara on a tourist bus

Cover a distance of 200kms in a 7 hours drive to Pokhara. During your journey, you may explore the Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, and other excursions. Upon your arrival, you will be immediately taken to the hotel; where you can rest, freshen-up, and then visit the streets of Pokhara, if you wish so. You will be staying at the hotel for the night. 

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Siwai and Trek to Chomrong

A drive from Pokhara to Siwai will be covered by jeep. Then you will be starting your trek from there to Chomrong. Overnight stay will be at a lodge arranged by us. 

Day 4: Trek from Chomrong to Dovan

After breakfast, the trek will initiate from Chomrong towards the next destination, which is Dovan. The night stay will be at the lodge.

Day 5: Trek from Dovan to MBC (Machhapuchhre Base Camp)

On this day, the trek will commence from Dovan, after having the breakfast to Machhapuchhre Base Camp, where you will be spending the night at a lodge.

Day 6: Trek to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) and Back to Dovan

The day will start early in the morning at 4:30 am, this will be a big day as we will be trekking for the Annapurna Base Camp. Sightseeing and the visit around the base camp will be a part of this day. Then, in the afternoon we will trek back to Dovan for night stay.

Day 7: Trek to Chomrong or Jhinu

Trek to Chomrong or Jhinu will be done on the 7th day, after breakfast. 

Day 8: Trek to Siwai and Drive back to Pokhara

We will be trekking back to Siwi first, and then take a drive back to Pokhara by jeep. The night stay will be at a hotel.

Day 9: Pokhara to Kathmandu (pickup from the bus stop)

You will be driven back to Kathmandu, after breakfast. After reaching Kathmandu, you can rest and relax for an entire day, with an overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 10: Final Departure

Before the departure, visitors have an option of exploring Nepal with a Kathmandu City Tour which excludes entrance fee ticket, and also Bhaktapur. Also, 3 hours prior to your flight time, you will be dropped safely to the airport for your final departure.

  • 2 night’s stay in a hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara (with breakfast).

Excluded

  • Lunch and Dinner at Kathmandu (except the welcome one).
  • Travel and Rescue Insurance.
  • Personal Expenses like Wi-Fi, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, bottled water, shower, snacks, etc.
  • Tips for guides, and porters.
  • International Flight expenses.
  • Early arrival or late departure at the hotel or an extra night accommodation in Kathmandu. Also, early return from the mountain/trek, than the scheduled itinerary due to any reason.
  • Excess or over-limit baggage charges.
  • Nepalese Visa Fee.

Good to Know

The safety of all travelers is of utmost importance to Alpine Club of Himalaya. We can change the itinerary or cancel the trip when it may seem necessary if we see that the safety of our travelers may be jeopardized. Natural disasters, weather conditions and the health condition of any of the group members may also affect the itinerary especially while traveling to remote parts of the Himalayas. Therefore, we request your cooperation and support if such circumstances arise. However, we always put in our best effort to stick to the itinerary and make it a memorable trip for you.
