Trip Overview

Gyama valley trek is a widespread agriculture tributary of Kyi Chu River, situated in the east of Lhasa. Small villages, barley fields, settlements, and temples make this trek more beautiful. It is one of the finest treks of central Tibet. You will start the journey from hiking towards Gyama, followed by Samye monastery. After this you’ll start trekking towards Yarlung Tsangpo River and drive to Tsetang. After reaching Lhasa, you’ll move further towards Namstso Lake and camp there. It will be an unforgettable journey.

Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Gonger. A representative will transfer you to Lhasa. Check in to Hotel.

Day 02: You will go for a guided tour of Potala in the morning. In the afternoon you will go to Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market.

Day 03: In the morning you will go to Drepung, the biggest monastic university. In the afternoon, you will have a guided tour of Norbulinka, summer palace, and Sera Gompa.

Day 04: Get a drive to Gyama, and stay in the camp overnight at Ganden Monastery.

Day 05: Arrange the trek and yaks to Thocha. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 06: Trek to Tsepla Pass and stay overnight in the camp.

Day 07: Trek to Yarmalung and stay overnight in the camp.

Day 08: Trek to Samye and visit the monastery over there and stay overnight in the camp.

Day 09: Get a drive to Tsedang via the Mindroling Monastery and stay overnight in Tsedang.

Day 10: Explore the Yarlung valley and Yumbulakhang, the castle built for Tibetan king and Tranduk Temple.

Day 11: After having a delicious breakfast, you will get a drive to the airport and fly to Chengdu/Kathmandu.
