Trip Overview

The trekking season is here! In the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, near Joshimath town is Kuari Pass. It is located in Chamoli and named after Lord Curzon and the Viceroy of India. This beautiful trek is surrounded by oak trees, rhododendron and deodar forests to add more beauty to your journey. The alluring views of the trek are set by the meadows of Gorson Bugyal. It is also known as one of the most popular treks for beginners. It’s time you add some adventure in your life, so join the group.

Enjoy the delightful views of the Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi(7817m), Trishul (7120m), DronagiriParvat (7066m), and Kamet (7756m), and Chaukhamba (7128m). In the picturesque trek, you will be crossing two passes other than Kuari Pass; Vinayak Pass, Tali Top. It is an easy level, 6-days trek, with the highest point of 3876m, and a covering distance of 33kms.

Itinerary

Day 1
Day will start at 6:30am. Pick-up from Dehradun Railway Station, and drive to Joshimath via taxi. (295 km drive (10/11 hours).
Day 2
Take a drive to Dhak village and then trek to Gulling Top from the point of Joshimath. (12 km drive and 6 km trek (5/6 hours).
Day 3
On the third day, trek to Khullara Top from Gulling Top (7.5 km (6/7 hours).
Day 4
From Khullara Top, trek to Kuari Pass, and then descend towards Tali/Chitrakantha campsite (12 km (8/9 hours).
Day 5
Trek towardsAuli from the Chitrakantha/ Tali campsite and drive to Joshimath {7 km (5/6 hours) and 13 km drive (1 hour)}.
Day 6
Head back to the original location Dehradun from Joshimathin a taxi (295 km drive (10/11 hours).

Good to Know

The starting and the endpoint are the same, Joshimath.The best time to visit is from April to June and September to November. If you want to experience the snow, then November to March are more suitable.
