Day 1: Dimapur to Kohima (65 km)
Arrival at Dimapur Airport, from the different places and then, the representatives such as driver, guide, would meet you and then, a wonderful 3 hours drive to Kohima.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kohima
As soon as you are done with your breakfast, explore the historic places of Kohima. The capital city Kohima presents a beautiful picture of the colors, culture, and tradition of Nagaland. You can roam around the local market, state museum, World War II cemetery and the wonderful state emporium. After lunch, visit Kisama, kigwema, and Jakhama. Then, get back to your hotel.
Day 3: Kohima to Khonoma
On your 3rd of your trekking, you would travel from Kohima to Khonoma which is for 45 minutes.
Day 4: Khonoma- Dzuleke – Kohima
On this 4th day of your trek, you would move towards the Dzuleke Village. Inhale the pure and fresh air from the Virgin Forest. There, you would also get to witness the local or regional animal – Mithun. On arrival, you would be served delicious lunch, then you can roam around the beautiful ethnic village where you can meet the locals. Then, get back to Kohima towards the evening.
Day 5: Kohima – Maram- Khullem-Kohima
Morning drive to Jazhama village, you can roam around the village, and then continue your drive to Maram-Khullem village and Manipur Village. On your arrival, you’ll be served sumptuous and mouth-watering local delicacies in lunch. Then, witness the King's house, with beautiful wooden carvings. There, you would also get the opportunity to meet the localities and interact with them. Taste the local tea or even the popular local rice beer. Drive back to Kohima.
Day 6: Kohima- Tuophema
Drive to Tuophema, which is the tourist village of Nagaland. Then, explore the village, and interact with the localities and get to know more about the tradition and culture of Nagas. Stay overnight at a lodge.
Day 7: Tuophema – Kohima
After breakfast, drive to the Tseminyu Village, Rengma Naga Tribal Village. In these villages, you would get the opportunity to meet the local weavers and craftsmen who are immensely talented. Then, drive back to Kohima, there you can shop at the nearest shopping centers, and also visit the Kohima Village. There, you would meet an old man, who has a private museum where has kept some of the antics of World-War II.
Day 8: Kohima – Dimapur
After breakfast, drive to Dimapur and then continue your onward journey.
Nagaland is a great place abundant with green forests and amazing scenarios. The tribal of this remote state are friendly and cooperating. You can try to interact with the locals as they are helpful and frank. The climatic condition is moderate, neither too hot nor too cold.
