Trip Overview

GhorepaniPoonhill trekking offers a variety of attractions from the scenic beauty, lush forest with rare birds, spectacular mountain scenery, beautiful Gurung villages, etc. Although it is a short trail it is a famous trekking trail. If you are planning to go for trekking but you don’t have enough days off, GhorepaniPoonhill trekking is the best for you.

The beautiful city of Pokhara is a 5 to 6 hours drive from Kathmandu. We put up at a stunning lake house and the next morning we took a car ride to Nayapul. Our trekking starts from Nayapul where we pass through beautiful forests, villages, river banks and streams till we reach Tikhedunga. When we took an ascent to Ghorepani it takes us through majestic colorful orchards and magnificent views. The next morning the climb to the top of Poonhill is the acme of the trail as we get to witness a superb and magnificent sunrise and panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains. The trail towards Tadapani offers a scenic landscape that passes through a rhododendron forest. The background is adorned by pacific views of snow-capped giants like Fish tail, Gangapurna, Annapurna south, etc. throughout the walk. Chhomrong is the next stop, a beautiful village in Annapurna. The following day is a resting day with a stroll to a Hot Spring. We drive back to Pokhara from Nayapul after a day’s walk through forests and riverbanks. 

Itinerary

Day 1:  Advent in Kathmandu

On arrival at Kathmandu, our representatives will come to pick you up at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A private vehicle is arranged for a drop to the hotel. You can take a rest or meet us at our office to inquire about the details of the trek. Bed and Breakfast at the hotel.

Day 2:  Kathmandu to Pokhara

We drive to Pokhara to Kathmandu after breakfast which is 200 km from Kathmandu. Lunch is in between this 6-hour bus ride. You can choose to fly to Pokhara which takes about 30 min and then explore the place which is famous for its scenic beauty and lakeside stopover.
 
Day 3:  From Pokhara to Nayapul to Ulleri

It is an hour drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and our trek begins from here. A short walk by the banks of the Modi river and we reach Berethani. There are plenty of tea houses on the way and after crossing a village we climb Hille and then to Tikhedhunga. It is a little bit of a challenge to ascent up Ulleri, a large Magar village. Stay for the night at Ulleri.

Day 4: Ulleri to Ghorepani

There is a little bit of uphill climb from Ulleri as we pass through oak and rhododendron forests to reach Banthanti. After a few hours we reach Ghorepani which is famous for Poonhill hike where you can gaze at the splendid sunrise and captivating view of the mountain ranges. Stay for the night at Ghorepani.

Day 5:  From Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani

A short hike to Poonhill and you will get the best viewpoint in the trail. It is a paradise for photographers. It will take about 45 min walk to reach to the top of the hill which is at the height of 3210m. Back to Ghorepani for breakfast and then head for Deurali along a steep arduous climb. The walk to Banthanti is an easy jungle pass through where we might meet Langurs and Monkeys. A little bit further and we reach Tadapani and we stay there for the night.

Day 6:  From Tadapani to Hotspring

We stroll down along forests of rhododendrons after breakfast and we cross the Kimsung River to ascend towards a Gurung village called Gurjung. We continue our uphill climb to Hot Spring and spent the day there relaxing. Stay for the night at a guest house. 

Day 7:  Hot Spring to Berethanti to Pokhara

We move down to ModiKhola from Jhinu enjoying the splendid views of Fish Tail and Annapurna range. We continue along the banks of ModiKhola River till we reach Berethanti. Another half and our walk and we will be taken back to Pokhara in a van. Stay for the night at a hotel.

Day 8:  Back to Kathmandu by Tourist bus

5 to 6 hours bus ride from Pokhara and we are back in Kathmandu. Farewell dinner for a successful trip. Stay for the night at Kathmandu.

Day 9:  To Kathmandu Airport and forward for the next program

We wish farewell to Kathmandu. A private tourist van is arranged to drop to the airport prior 3 hours before the scheduled time.
