Trip Overview

The Auden’ Col is an extremely challenging trek that has its mention on every avid trekker’s wish list. This trek is not for the faint-hearted as it requires a high level of physical fitness along with a strong will and dedication. The hard work and endurance required for this trek will finally pay off as you rejoice amidst the Himalayan landscape.

The Auden’s Col trek begins from Gangotri, the source of the holy river Ganga. Gangotri is a major pilgrimage location for Hindus as it houses the Gangotri temple. The trek goes through various pine and birch forests, green meadows, and moraines. The trail gets even more challenging beyond the Khatling glacier and special types of mountaineering equipment are required to move further. You will be awarded stunning views of the snow-clad Gangotri I, II, and III. The experience gets even better with beautiful campsites along the lakes and rivers. The Waterfall campsite and Gangotri BC are blessed with idyllic sceneries and are the perfect location to indulge in rejuvenating sights. Itinerary

  • Day 1: Dehradun to Gangnani
    We will get up early in the morning and begin the drive from Dehradun to reach Gangnani. The destination has various hot water spring baths, and the guests can bathe in them. We will enjoy dinner and stay overnight at Hotel.
     
  • Day 2: Gangnani to Gangotri
    After breakfast in the hotel we will drive towards Gangotri and take a halt at Harsil. The guests can visit a small hamlet called Wilson’s cottage and enjoy refreshments. We will reach Gangotri by noon and visit the famous pilgrimage.
     
  • Day 3: Gangotri to Nala Camp
    Today we will commence with the trek and move uphill through pine and birch wooded landscapes to reach the campsite at Nala. You will be able so see Gangotri III from the campsite and the beautiful river Rudragaira.
     
  • Day 4: Nala Camp to Rudragaira Basecamp
    Begin the trek through green meadows and walk along the trail towards the campsite. The trail eventually gets rocky and challenging as you will have to cross through gurgling rivers on the way. Upon reaching the Rudragaira campsite, you will be able to see Rudragaira Peak along with Gangotri I, II, and III.
     
  • Day 5: Rudragaria BC to Gangotri Group BC
    The trail will gradually get challenging till Gangotri group basecamp. You will be stunned with gorgeous views of Gangotri I, II, and II. We will set up our camp and spend night under this glorious view.
     
  • Day 6: Rest and Acclimatisation
    The guests can rest and acclimatize for the day. You can also explore the nearby area and enjoy beautiful sights.
     
  • Day 7: Gangotri I BC to Auden’s Col BC
    Today we will trek to the Auden’s Col Basecamp, crossing a huge moraine. This trail is extremely challenging and will take approximately 4-5 hours to complete.
     
  • Day 8: Auden’s Col BC to Auden’s Col toKhatling Glacier camp
    We will get up early at 05:00 AM to cover the first phase of today’s trek. Ropes will be fixed on some parts of this pass to assist everyone during trekking. The descent to Khatling might require rappelling as it is usually covered with ice. We will walk along a rope after descent to avoid a deep crevasse. The Khatling Glacier campsite offers stunning views of the valley.
     
  • Day 9: Khatling Glacier camp to Waterfall Campsite
    Begin trek from Khatling glacier and cross several moraines to finally descend towards the riverside. We will require technical equipment and supervision to complete today’s trek. We will reach the Waterfall campsite after 7-8 hours of trek and spend the night here.
     
  • Day 10: Waterfall Campsite to Chowki
    Today’s trail runs alongside a river and finally opens into a green meadow. Trek for 4 km more to finally reach a beautiful campsite called Chowki.
     
  • Day 11: Chowki to Masar Tal
    Trek towards an isolated lake in the Garhwal region in Behri. Masar Tal is surrounding with mesmeric meadows, dense woods, and snow-capped mountains.
     
  • Day 12: Masar Tal to Vasuki Tal
    Our next destination is a sweet water glacial lake and holds exclusive Himalayan flora and fauna around it. Vasuki Tal is located in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and we will spend the night here.
     
  • Day 13: Vasuki Tal to Kedarnath
    Today we will trek to the most worshipped and divine destination in the Himalayan range. Kedarnath lies close to the source of river Mandakini and an open green field. The guests can visit the temple or relax in the hotel with stunning views.
     
  • Day 14: Kedarnath to Gaurikund and drive to Rudraprayag
    We will begin trek early in the morning and descend down a defined path to reach the basecamp for Kedarnath. After reaching Gaurikund we will board on the private vehicles and drive towards Rudraprayag. We will spend the night a hotel along the river banks.
     
  • Day 15: Rudrapraya to Dehdradun
    We will drive towards Dehradun, marking the end of our beautiful trek tour. We will reach the destination early evening.
