Trip Overview

Scenic beauty, oscillating slopes, and rewarding views make Dayara Bugyal in Uttarakhand a piece of heaven. It is one of the best meadows with a breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayan peaks, and a clear view of the Gangotri Range.

The trek trail is ideal for skiing, trekking, or hiking, and during the getaway, it takes you through the mesmeric forests of Oak encircled with mesmerizing snow-clad peaks. During the trekking trip, you walk beside the peaks of Draupadi ka Danda, Jaonli, and Srikantha.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Barsu to Barnala Tal

(6 hours drive and 2-3 hours trek)

After you reach Dehradun, a representative will pick you up and drive you to your destination. The route passes through the beautiful towns of Chamba, Bhatwari, and Uttarkashi to reach Barsu. During the journey, you enjoy the beautiful sight of temples, ashrams, and mountains. The road diverges to Barsu from Bhatwari, and after reaching Barsu, start your trek to Barnala Tal.

The trail passes the reservoir, and after a village, you’ll enter a forest dotted with trees of oak, walnut, rhododendron, and maple. In spring, the rhododendron colors the forests with hues of pink and red. After reaching Barnala Village near Barnala Tal, set up your tent and spend the night in the vast meadow amidst the glorifying setting of the Himalayan Peaks.

Day 2: Barnala Tal to Dayara Bugyal

(1 Hour Hike to Dayara Bugyal and 2-3 hours of exploration of the region)

After your breakfast, start the trek and come across rewarding and unending views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. It’s going to be an easy hike, and after reaching Dayara Bugyal, set-up your tent for an overnight stay under the open sky. Take rest and then explore the area the whole afternoon. You can hike up to the Bakariya top to enjoy a panoramic view of the meadows.

You can see Bandarpoonch peaks towards the north, and towards the east lies a range of Himalayan peaks that include Draupadi ka Danda, Srikantha, and Jaonli. Explore the nearby area of Gidara Bugyal and walk on the ridge that connects Dayata to Assi Ganga Valley.

Day 3: Dayara Bugyal to Barsu and Drive Back to Dehradun

(3-4 hours of hike and 6 hours drive)

The last day of your trip, after breakfast, start the trek downhill back to Barsu. Then you drive back to Dehradun and will reach around early evening.
