Trip Overview

This gorgeous trek to a glacial lake in Uttarakhand will take you a step closer to divine nature and mesmeric view of snow-capped peaks. Satopanth Lake has a religious significance and the people of Mana village often throw the ashes of the dead ones in this lake to offer peace to the soul. You can witness various species of beautiful birds, flowers, which cannot be found elsewhere. This trek begins from Badrinath, alongside the beautiful Alakananda River. The conjunction of Alakananda and Alkapuri glacier is a stunning sight. The views of Neelkanth, Balakun, and Satopnath peaks will accompany you throughout the trek and make the experience worthwhile. The trek trail will take you through numerous waterfalls, alpine meadows, and scenic landscapes so that all the tourists can create beautiful memories for this tour.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Joshimath to Badrinath
    We will begin the journey early with a drive to Joshimath via Devprayag and Rudraprayag. The holy river Ganga can be seen starting from this point. We will continue to drive to Badrinath and reach the destination by evening. We will stay the night in a guesthouse.
  • Day 2: Badrinath to Mana to Vasudhara Waterfalls camp
    Get up early in the morning to visit the Badrinath temple. After breakfast, we will drive to Mana Village and begin the trek to the beautiful Vasudhara falls through Bheem Bridge. Lunch will be served on the way, and the guests can enjoy a beautiful view of the Saraswathiriver underneath the bridge.
  • Day 3: Vasudhara Waterfalls camp to Laxmi van to Chakrateerth Meadow
    After breakfast, we will hike to the Laxmi Van, a small meadow with grazing pastures for the cattle. We will have lunch on the way and proceed toward Chakrateerth meadow. The camping ground is surrounded by gorgeous views of mountains and greenery.
  • Day 4: Chakrateerth Camp to Satopanth lake and back to Laxmi van
    Today’s hike will be quite strenuous, as we will have to trek over glacial debris, huge boulders, and rocky terrains. We will be rewarded with beautiful sights of the Satopnath Lake and lotus flowers growing on the banks of the lake. We will head back to our camp and trek to Laxmi Van.
  • Day 5: Laxmi Van to Vasudhara Waterfall to Mana and Badrinath
    We will begin the day with an early morning trek to Mana Village and drive for 3km to Badrinath. We will enjoy lunch on the way and check into a hotel for overnight stay.
  • Day 6: Badrinath to Rishikesh
    We will get up early today and drive to Haridwar via Rudraprayag and Devprayag. Our tour will end here, and the guests can depart from here.

This trek is moderate in terms of difficulty and can be done by anyone over 12 years of age. It is always advisable to carry a personal first-aid kit and also the necessary clothes for high altitude trekking in the Himalayas.
