Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri Drive
The day starts with an early pick up from Dehradun to drive to the village of Sankri. Reach the destination by evening crossing through the Govind Pashu National Park. Settle in the campsite and take rest.
Day 2: Sankri to Seema via Taluka
After breakfast, start your drive from Sankri to Taluka, which is going to be a bit bumpy. The trek begins from Taluka- a walk through the path besides the River Supin, crossing the trees of pine and walnut. The path crosses few more streams, which then merge with Supine. You then reach the village of Ganga. Continue the hike till you reach Seema crossing the quaint village of Osla. You’ll stay here for the night in a camp or hut with a local family.
Day 3: Seema to Roiltia or Waterfall Camp
Wake up early, and after your breakfast, continue the walk along the valley beside the Tons River. The trail ascends through the fields and then climbs above the confluence of the Tons and Ruinsara gad. During the hike, you walk through a beautiful forest to reach the campsite besides the stream and close to the waterfall.
Day 4: Waterfall to Ruinsara Lake
Start with an ascent into the Ruinsara Valley, where you spot different vegetation and trees of pine and fir, paving the way to birch and rhododendron. The region of Ruinsara Valley is breathtaking, and Ruinsara Lake is a lovely spot encircled by meadows and rhododendron bushes. The lake is considered sacred by the locals. As you reach the campsite, settle down and take rest.
Day 5: Ruinsara Lake
The day is meant to take rest and to explore the lakeside area- glaciers and valleys. You can visit Thang Campsite- on the opposite bank of the river, where you might spot Himalayan Brown Bears. You can also go on the eastward trail on the left bank of the river and reach the base camp of Swagarohini and then Black Peak. The trail further heads towards Dhumdhar Kandi Pass that takes you to Gangotri Valley.
Day 6: Ruinsara Lake to Seema
Wake up early in the morning, as you need to reach Seema crossing the distance of 17km. The path is mostly downhill, except for a short steep through the forest. Reach the campsite to stay overnight.
Day 7: Seema to Taluka to Sankri
Start early in the morning from Seema to reach Taluka, and then drive back to Sankri for the overnight stay at the camp. The route passes through the magnificent view of natural galore all around.
Day 8: Sankri to Dehradun
This amazing trek concludes today, and now you’ll leave Sankri to reach Dehradun for the journey ahead.
