Manali is one of the famous traveling spots in North India with plenty of adventure activities to offer. An idyllic land with splendid views of the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges, Manali is a year-round haunt for trekkers.
One such trek is Kothi Peak- a low altitude trail in Manali away from the crowd. Loaded with thrill and adventure of climbing a mountain, Kothi Peak Trek is affordable and ideal for a moderately fit person.
It is located on Manali-Rohtang road over Kothi Village, providing a breathtaking view of Rohtang Pass to the left and Bhrigu Peak on the right.
Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival at Manali
You arrive at the Campsite at Palchan in the forenoon. At lunch, meet with your guide and discuss the program. After lunch, take rest or visit the local market. You’ll be staying in rooms at Campsite in Palchan.
Day 2: Palchan to Base Camp at Rauli Khol
Wake up early to enjoy a beautiful sunrise view from the campsite. After your breakfast, start the trek to Rauli Khol. First, you travel by jeep to Gulaba, and then from Gulaba to Rauli Khol. It is an uphill trek of around 4-5 hours. In the evening, enjoy free time at the campsite.
Day 3: Summit Attempt
Wake up for an early breakfast, and then start the trek for the peak. The trail begins with 3 hours uphill trek reaching the foot of the peak. Then it takes 2 more hours to climb the peak crossing beautiful path decorated with natural embellishments. Once you reach the peak take rest, and then start the 3 hours descend to Rauli Khol Camp.
Day 4: Reserve Day
Reserve day for summit attempt for those who are unable to reach to the peak previous day will go today. If the team already summits successfully, then they will trek to Bhrigu Lake. The trek is of 6 hours up and down. The trek is a frozen surprise with a white sheet of snow spread all around. During summer, you witness snow only on the peaks, greenery, and listen to the silence of Bhrigu Lake.
Day 5: Base Camp to Palchan
After breakfast, you start the journey back to Apple Orchid Camp. First, you trek down to Gulaba and then to Palchan by jeep.
Day 6: Departure
The day can be utilized for exploring nearby areas or to do shopping. You have free time till lunch, and then after lunch, you’ll be dropped to Manali Bus Station for your next destination.
