Manali is one of the most loved and ideal trekking destinations in India, and the Patalsu Peak Trek is a low altitude trekking expedition suitable for all especially beginners. Forming an ideal backdrop and environ for a trekker, Patalsu Peak Trek has a perfect panoramic view of Manali and should be visited ideally in April, May, and June.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Manali 

Once you arrive at the campsite, you’ll be gathered for lunch and a meeting with the Guide for trek tour discussion. After lunch, take rest or visit the market to shop or explore the nearby area. You can go for a short walk around the camp area. 

Day 2: Palchan to Base Camp at Shaga-ra-Dugh

The journey starts with a drive from Palchan to Solang, and from Solang, you start the trekking expedition to Shaga-ra-Dugh. It is an uphill trek through the dense forest passing Solang village and coming out to open meadows behind the forest. 

Day 3: Acclimatization/Rest Day at Base Camp

The day is meant for rest to get acclimatized, and you can also keep yourself busy with your preparation for the next morning trek. 

Day 4: Summit Attempt 

Start the trek walking on the trail with gradual slope up to the shoulder of the peak, and followed by a steeper route where you need to use rope and ice-axe to balance. The summit of the peak gives you an eagle eye’s view of Manali and Rohtang Pass. Then you start to descent to Shaga-ra-Dugh Camp. 

Day 5: Shaga-ra-Dugh to Palchan

By trekking down to Solang to Palchan by jeep, you’ll reach the campsite at Solang and stay there for overnight. 

Day 6: Departure

After lunch, you’ll be dropped at Manali Bus Station to board a bus for the next destination or back home.

Good to Know

  • Carry appropriate clothes- High Ankle trekking shoes, woolen socks, one pullover, windproof jacket, rain sheet, and other required items. 
  • Make your luggage small and lightweight, pack necessary items. 
  • Personal luggage is not included to be carried by the porter in the package. 
  • Also carry gear including a torch, personal medicines, sunglasses, etc.
