Day 1: Arrive in Darjeeling
Once you reach Bagdogra, you’ll be welcomed by a representative and transferred to the hotel in Darjeeling. Take rest and go for a walk or stroll around Darjeeling.
Day 2: Darjeeling- Manebhanjang-Tonglu/Tumling Trek
Start the day early in the morning to reach Manebhanjang while enjoying panoramic views of nature. Manebhanjang is a small beatific village around 58kms away from Darjeeling and takes 1.5 hours by car. The region is home to the Buddhist Sherpa Tribe. Have breakfast, and then start the hike up to Tonglu passing through pine, bamboo glades, fir, and birch forest and reach Chitre - small Buddhist settlement. The route consists of steep uphill climbing on a stoned pathway, and then you reach a small hamlet, Meghma. Take a break and have lunch, then choose to continue the trek choosing between Tonglu or Tumling route. For mountain views, head to Tonglu, and Tumling offers dazzling night view of Darjeeling, Pasupati town, Kurseong, and Siliguri. Stay at a homestay or camp overnight.
Day 3: Tonglu- Gairibas- Kalipokhari Trek
Wake up before dawn to enjoy the spectacular view of the sunrise behind the Himalaya Range. Today you’ll enter the famous National Park of Singalila and discover exotic mountain plants or might even spot a red panda. Have breakfast and begin the simpler trek downhill to Garribas passing through modest farmlands, quaint hamlets, and a lot of bamboo glades. Have lunch at Garribas and continue the trek uphill to Kalipokhari that takes you through rhododendron forest. Once you reach Kalipokhari, also known as Black Lake or small dark color lake settled amidst pine trees and fluttering prayer flags, and from there, you can take 2 hours of jeep ride from Tonglu or stay overnight in Kalipokhri at a homestay.
Day 4: Kalipokhari- Sandakphu Trek
Wake up early in the morning and prepare for the trek to Sandakphu, the highlight of the trek. The Trekking route is called the paradise for trekkers. Sandakphu is embodied with panoramic views of spectacular vistas of the entire Himalayan belt. The towering pinnacles in Nepal can be seen at the horizon in a continuous arc, and it includes Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Mt. Pandim, Makalu, and Sikkim’s Mt. Kanchenjunga. The valley is surrounded by hills dotted with silver fir and rhododendrons trees. The ridge trail descends till Valley of Poisson, Bikherbhanjang is beautiful, and from this point, there is a steep climb of 4km till Sandakphu. It is a tiring and steep slope of the trek but equally rewarding and passes through a thick forest of rhododendron and magnolia. In the region, you find aconite plants in abundance and stay here overnight at the lodge, guesthouses or camp.
Day 5: Sandakphu- Rimbik Trek
The day is the last day of your trek tour where you start from Sandakphu to reach Rimbik passing through quaint farmlands and hamlets. Reach Rimbik and take rest at the hotel or take a leisure walk around the town.
Day 6: Rimbik to NJP/Bagdogra
After your meal, head to Darjeeling or Siliguri for a safe journey to home via air or rail.
