Join us on this 14-day guided tour of one of the highest regions in the world. Get to explore the areas surrounding Kang Yatse which lies at an altitude of 6,240 meters above sea level. Relax and spend some time exploring Leh and visiting the monasteries the vicinity as you prepare for the trek.
Go through a comprehensive session that will explain all the dos and don'ts as you prepare yourself for the trek. The journey begins from Chilling after crossing Alchi and Zanskar River and then finally entering Markha Valley.The trail continues along River Markha and passes through serveral villages. The approach to the base camp involves many days of walking and exploring the Markha Valley, which is a great way to acclimatise before the summit
The tour ends in Leh, where you will spend a few more days before departing.
Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Arrive at Leh Airport and meet our representative who will help you to your hotels or homestay. Unwind, relax and then head out to explore the local area.
Later in the evening, gather at your hotel to meet your other team members and guides who will join you on this trip and go through a briefing that will help you with the expedition.

Day 2: Leh tour

Relax for the day at Leh and spend the day getting used to the high altitude climate. It is necessary that you acclimatise yourself to the climate and stay hydrated.
Explore various locations of the city such as the royal palace and Shanti Stupa. Later take a drive to Thiksey and spend time at the monaster

Day 3: Leh - Chilling - Zingchen
5 hours Homestay
After enjoying your breakfast, take a drive to Chilling and reach Spituk, which is where the trek begins along the banks of the Indus river.
After traversing along the Stok range, you will enter Hemis National Park. After hiking for a few hours, you will reach Zingchen where you will spend the night at a traditional homestay.

Day 4: Zingchen - Ganda La base
6 hours Homestay
Make your way through Hemis National and witness the beautiful landscape that is filled with multi-coloured rocks and poplars. The trail continues on to Yurutse, a high-altitude Ladhakhi village from where you can make your way to the foot of the Ganda La pass where you can camp for the night.

Day 5: Ganda La base - Ganda La Pass - Skiu
6 hours Homestay
Navigate through a small valley and then a windy trail that goes uphill for three hours before you reach the Ganda La pass.
The trail gets fairly easy as you descend down the pass towards Shingo. After a two-hour descent, you will reach Markha Valley from where you can continue towards Skiu.
Spend the night at a homestay in Skiu.

Day 6: Skiu - Markha
7 hours Homestay
Hike for a while from Skiu and cross Markha River head on to Chaluk. After a short uphill hike, you will reach the village of Markha, where you can spend the night.

Day 7: Markha - Tchatchutse
5 hours Camping
From Markha, the trail goes back up the main valley, along the Markha River's bank. It can get slightly tough as you will have to navigate across the river a few times.
Reach Humlung Monastery after which you will arrive at Hankar. The trail goes uphill for while after which you will have to cross a bridge across the river to reach the pasture of Tchatchutse.

Day 8: Tchatchutse - Kang Yatse base
5 hours Camping
The trail from Tchatchtse rises very gradually, with the river being on the left. Continue to hike all the way to a small lake and then cross the pastures.

Day 9: Kang Yatse - Nimaling

Leave the camp and head towards the summit in the early hours of the morning, between 2 am and 4 am. The ascent about six or seven hours. After reaching the summit, start your descent to the campsite in Nimaling where you will camp for the night

Day 10: Nimaling stay

This day is can be used as a buffer in case the weather conditions are not favourable for reaching the summit. If you reach the summit on the scheduled day, you can either use this day to rest in Nimaling or continue your trek and have an extra day in Leh at the end of the tour.

Day 11: Nimaling - Konmaru La pass - Shang
7 hours Homestay
From Nimaling, it is an uphill hike for about two hours before you reach Konmaru La pass. The descent from the pass involves a steep and twisty trail that crosses Markha River to reach Shang.

Day 12: Shang - Hemis - Leh

From Shang, board a vehicle that will take you to Hemis where you can explore the famous Hemis Monastery. From here, take a drive to Leh and check into the hotel there.

Explore Leh and spend time visiting all the various tourist spots. You can also have for a thrilling white water rafting experience.
Later, enjoy a hearty celebratory dinner to mark the success of the expedition before returning to your hotel/homestay.

After breakfast, depart from Leh and head for your onward destination.

If you do not feel well at any point on the trip and suspect that you are suffering from altitude-related illness, inform the trek leader and descend immediately to a lower elevation.
