Trip Overview

Trek starts from the beautiful Tosh Village in the Parvati Valley which leads to the Pin Parvati Pass Trek and Animal Pass Trek. Tosh is a village situated at the end of Parvati valley. It offers scenic beauty of the valley, since it's high up in mountains and also a hub of trekkers, being the nearest village to famous Kheerganga trek. It is accessible by road and at a distance of around 40 kms from Kasol. The Tosh Nallah meets the Pārbati River at Pulga coming from the North. The Tosh Glacier - Animal pass Trek starts in a narrow valley but as you trek it opens up and you come across several beautiful meadows along the valley. At the head of the valley is the Tosh Glacier surrounded by some well-known peaks: Papsura (6451m) & White Sail (6446m).

Itinerary

Day 0: (Optional): Delhi - Bhuntar - Manikaran - Barsheni - Tosh

The participants will de-board the Bus at ‘Bhuntar’, to change bus to Manikaran (if not travelling in the direct bus). From Manikaran take a bus to Barsheni, it's less than a hour ride over steep mountain roads, by bus to reach Barsheni from Manikaran. From here it’s a short hike to Tosh village. The trail from Barsheni village to Tosh is a jeep track, with a commanding view of the Parvati valley dam and the confluence of Parvati and Tosh rivers. Unwind at our base ideally located at the end of the village in an orchard. After refreshments, explore the village of Tosh. Return back at base to chat with the team over bonfire and dinner.

Day 1: Kasol/Manikaran – Tosh village by jeep (2400m) – trek from Tosh village – Buddhaban (3020m) | 4 hours

All participants are required to assemble at our base in Tosh, latest by 9 am. We will start walking at 10:30 am. The walk turns to a gradual climb from the Tosh village. From the village we follow the raging Tosh River through dense pine forests to Buddhaban, a largish meadow with a spring of its own and many rocks.

Stay: In comfortable 2 men tents | Food: lunch, dinner, hot/cold beverages, soup, snacks

Day 2: Buddhaban – Sharam Thach (3505m) | 7 hours
Today’s a long day’s walk as the path ascends from Buddhaban to cross the treeline and continues over picturesque meadows and rhododendron clusters to the high altitude meadow at Sharam Thach.

Stay: In comfortable 2 men tents | Food: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hot/cold beverages, soup, snacks

Day 3: Sharam Thach – Shamshi Thach (3800m) | 5 hours
An initial steep climb peters out to a narrow path over patches of snow. The Tosh river continues its noisy course throughout. After a short descent, you arrive at Shamshi Thach, beautifully set in a little bowl at the base of the valley. To the north is the Tosh Glacier, to the east the massive face of Kullu Makalu peak and the glacier descending from it.

Stay: In comfortable 2 men tents | Food: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hot/cold beverages, soup, snacks

Day 4: Animal Pass (4560m)/ Tosh Glacier (4300m) - Exploratory day at Shamshi Thach | 5 hours
There is a choice of either going up to Animal Pass (4560m) for the day or hiking upto the snout of the Tosh Glacier (4300m).

Stay: In comfortable 2 men tents | Food: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hot/cold beverages, soup, snacks

Day 5: Shamshi Thach – Buddhaban | 5 hours
Retrace your steps back to Buddhaban.

Stay: In comfortable 2 men tents | Food: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hot/cold beverages, soup, snacks

Day 6: Buddhaban – Barsheni | 4 hours - End of Trek
Head back to the road head at Barsheni. Trek ends here. we'll head to one of the popular restaurants for some yummy lunch.Participants can continue their journey to explore Manali or depart for Delhi/Chandigarh.

  • Any expenses of purely personal nature like laundry, phone/Fax calls, tips to drivers, guides, any beverages.   
  • Any expenses that arise due to change in itinerary and increase in no. of days because of natural forces like landslides, weather, roadblocks, flight cancellations, sickness etc.  
  • Nominal cost for bonfire, barbeque and all meals at base camp in Haripur (choice of veg/ non-veg).  
  • Cost of any optional activity we offer, like paragliding, angling, rafting etc.
  • porterage @INR. 300 per day above the specified 10 kg

PAYMENT

A deposit of 10% is required when booking this tour. The remaining balance will be charged 45 days prior departure. For any bookings within 45 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking.

OTHER PRACTICAL INFORMATIONIf you do not feel well at any point on the trip and suspect that you are suffering from altitude-related illness, inform the trek leader and descend immediately to a lower elevation.
