The tour will commence with a drive from Kathmandu via the ‘friendship bridge’. After receiving the immigration formalities in Zhangmu, drive to Nyalam and spend the night at this peaceful location. Drive to Tingri, by crossing the Langma La Pass to Rongbuk. Enjoy the majestic views of Mount Everest, Rongbuk glacier and the magnificent vista of the great Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3,600m)
Transfer from Kathmandu to Lhasa on China Southwest Airlines. The terrific view of Mount Everest from the flight is a treat in itself. An appointed Tibetan guide will come and pick you up from the Gongar Airport, and drop you to Lhasa by land cruiser in a 2-hour drive.

Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
Visit several monasteries of ancient times, like Sera Monastery- one of the best-preserved monasteries in the region of Tibet. The journey will continue to Norbulingka (summer palace of Dalai Lama), the Jokhang Temple. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Lhasa.

Day 3: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
Visit Patola Palace and the historical Drepung Monastery.

Day 4: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m), 262km
Proceed towards Rongbuk valley, the friendship bridge, Khamba La (4,794m), views of Yamdrok-Tso Lake, the snowy summit of Nazin Kang Sa (7,552m). Continue westward to Karo La (5,045m) where you can see the huge glacier, and then arrive at Gyantse through the Tibetan villages.

Day 5: Drive to Shigatse (3,900m), 90km
Visit GyantseDzong, famed Gyantse Kumbum, and then continue to Shigatse (the second-largest city in Tibet). Explore the local market, visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery- one of the largest monasteries in Tibet.

Day 6: Drive to Shegar, New Tingri (4,050m), 247km
Acclimatize in the picturesque beauty of the desert plateau. Pass through Gyatmso La (5,220m), nomadic herders, and secluded monasteries.

Day 7: Drive to Rogunk (5,000m), 67km
We head south to the Pang La (5,150m) towards the Himalayan range that offers views of Makali, Shishapangma. Enjoy the magnificent view of Mount Everest.

Day 8: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,150), and drive back to Tingri (4,390m), 63km
Explore the breathtaking views of the Everest Base Camp.

Day 9: Drive to Zhangmu (2,330), 182km
After leaving Tingri, cross two passes; Lalung La (5,050m) and Shung La (5,200m). Watch the blissful landscapes of the surrounding peaks like Cho Oyu, Gauri Shankar, Shishapangma, and Menlungtse. The journey heads to Zhangmu in the Nepalese border.

Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu
Join the friendship bridge, leaving Zhangmu behind, to pass the Bhote Koshi River.
