One of the newly opened trekking trail and eco-lodges community base trek in Nepal, Mohare Danda Trek in the foothill of Annapurna is a natural off beaten trekking trail. The trek is a short trek and great for beginners and for those who want to skip the overcrowded trek routes.

The trail takes you to the ultimate height of 3300m above the sea level where you can relish the majestic panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. Mohare Danda trek trail is encircled by lush forest, bamboo, oaks, pines, and varieties of rhododendron along with ample of rivers and waterfalls.

The trek gives you an opportunity to know about rich culture of Magar and Gurung communities, and can enjoy their vibrant culture, social life, heart warming hospitality, and friendly nature of the locals.

The trekking of Mohare Danda is the best short trek from Pokhara, and suitable for the trekkers who don’t have sufficient time to trek in the Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and Hotel Transfer

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff members will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. This is followed by a briefing regarding your trek, hotels, lodges, itinerary, and then you head to enjoy evening group welcome dinner.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara

After having breakfast, you’ll drive to Pokhara by a coach or private vehicle depending on group size. The drive of 6-7 hours makes you relish the natural embellishments of the region, and then you reach at your hotel near stunning Phewa Lake to rest or explore the area. You can also opt for a flight.

Day 3: Pokhara to Galeshwor and Trek to Bans Kharka

After a healthy breakfast, 3-hour drive to Beni-Galeshwor and then you begin trekking by crossing the bridge over the Kali Gandaki watercourse. The trail follows up to Bans Kharka, and after covering a distance of 1525m, you reach an Eco-Community Lodge for the overnight stay.

Day 4: Trek to Nangi

Start early and add the exploration spree to the village, its organic farm colleges - Nepali paper creating spot, and then trek to Magars Village. The day covers a distance of 2300m in 5-6 hours to make you reach Nangi to stay at eco-lodge for night stay.

Day 5: Trek to Mohare Danda

The trekking leads through the forests of rhododendrons, Oak and Bamboo to Mohare Danda, and provides a spectacular, stunning mountain road. The place offers the best sunset and sunrise view. After covering a distance of 3300m, walking 6-7 hours, you finally reach the community lodge to take rest and have an amazing full board supper.

Day 6: Trek to Danda Kharka

The day starts early, as you can’t miss the breathtaking sunrise view, followed by a healthy breakfast. A laydown trek that requires 2-3 hours of walking, marking it as the simplest trekking day of your tour. Danda Kharka is found within the middle of a bush forest in one of the peaceful places of the planet. Covering the distance of 2800m, you reach the community lodge for the layover.

Day 7: Trek to Ghandruk Village

The 5-hour walk moves across a gaggle of flatlands, cultivated lands, and the bridge over Khumbu Khola, and forests. The trail is full of scenic views of Annapurna South, Annapurna 3, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Walking along the mesmerizing trail, you reach the beautiful village of Ghandruk.

Day 8: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

The trek begins by going down to Nayapul (5-hour walk). The trail paved by stones passes by beautiful villages, followed by terrace farming. Once the trek crosses Modi Khola, you reach Birethanti, and then you need to walk for 30-40 minutes from Birethanti to enter Nayapul. From the point, you drive back to Pokhara.

Day 9: Drive Back to Kathmandu

A drive of 6-7 hours back to Kathmandu starts early morning after having breakfast. You can extend your trip enquiring about available offers. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can explore the place or indulge in various activities. In the evening you’ll have farewell dinner enjoying cultural performances.

Day 10: International Departure Homeward Bound

A staff member of Sherpa Expedition and Trekking drops you to Kathmandu International airport for your flight back home in a car, around three hours before the scheduled flight.
