Everest Base Camp is one of the most popular treks in the world and is a dream destination for many trekkers. This special trip is for the adventure lovers who prefer a small budget traveling. Keeping them in mind we are offering the low budget package to help them live their dream.
The best seasons to plan this trek are spring and autumn. We offer a standard package that will ensure proper acclimatization with around 4-6 hours of walking a day. You do not need any past experience or technical knowledge to complete this trek.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will be received by our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu from where you will be taken to the hotel. You will be introduced to your trekking guide in a pre-trek meeting which will be held in the evening. Please carry your passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a copy of your travel insurance policy for the meeting.
Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla
You will board an early morning flight to Lukla which will take around 30-35 minutes to reach. You will be introduced to other trekking members in Lukla. Your trek to the village of Phakding will begin downhill. You can spend the remaining day relaxing at the lodge after reaching Phakding.
Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
You will walk up to Namche Bazaar from Phakding. You will cross the first suspension bridge across the Dudh Koshi River at Phakding. Then you will cross the second bridge and ascend to the third suspension bridge which is over the Monjo River. You will be taken to Monjo which is a gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park from where you will descend to the Larja Dobhan where you will cross another bridge across the Dudh Koshi River. From here you will be taken to Namche Bazaar where you can explore the market.
Day 4: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Acclimatization is very important before ascending further as you will already be above the altitude of 3,000m. You can visit the nearby villages like Khunde and Khumjung and explore the monasteries, hospital and school or hike to the old Sherpa village of Thame.
Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
You will walk from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche and march up to the ridge. Then you will walk up to the village of Khyangjuma where the trail descends and passes through the forests. You will walk till you reach a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River at Phunk Tenga and walk out of the forest until the Tengboche monastery.
Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
You will descend to Deboche and to the bridge over the Imja River past Milingo. You will be taken to another bridge at Somare. From here you will head to another bridge on a flat trail. You will cross the bridge and reach the village of Dingboche.
Day 7: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
You will climb up to Dusa from where you will continue up till Palrung Kharka. Now, you will cross a bridge and hike towards the Thokla Pass and reach Lobuche.
Day 8: Trek to Lobuche Gorak Shep
Following the moraine of the Khumbu glacier from Lobuche you will walk towards the Lobuche Pass. You will hike downwards to the junction of Changri Nup, Changri Shar and the Khumbu glacier. You will walk across the glacier and reach Gorak Shep and then hike to Everest Base Camp. You will spend some time at the base camp and hike down to Gorak Shep.
Day 9: Hike to Kala Patthar and trek to Pheriche
Mount Everest cannot be seen from the base camp so you will have to hike to Kala patthar to get a good view of the majestic massif. You will reach the point after walking for about 1-2 hours and experience the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Pumori. Then you will get back to the lodge at Gorak Shep and hike downwards to Pheriche.
Day 10: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
You will leave Pheriche and get back to the three passes trail which drops downhill till the Pangboche village. From here, you will walk down to the riverside, crossing the bridge and continue to climb up to Tengboche. You will descend from Tengboche through the forest which will lead you to the bridge across the Dudh Koshi River at Phunki Tenga. You will reach Namche Bazaar after passing through some settlements like Sanasa and Khyangjuma.
Day 11: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
You will leave Namche Bazaar, from where the trail drops to the suspension bridge across the Dudh Koshi River. You will be taken to the exit point of the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. You will drop down to Phakding. You will walk all the way up to Lukla, past small Sherpa villages, monasteries, Chortens, and the rural landscape.
Day 12: Fly from Lukla to hotel in Kathmandu
You will fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. After having breakfast you will be dropped at the airport and reach the hotel in Kathmandu in a private vehicle. In the afternoon, everyone will meet to discuss the trek and get feedback.
