This trek is an ideal option if you wish to indulge in Annapurna like sceneries without the crowd. The trail crosses through lush tropical forests, ridges, cliffside shelves, and the famous Gandaki River. The mountain views are truly sensational and the Larkya-La pass adds to the thrill. The trail after Jagat has been damaged due to the 2015 earthquake yet this trek manages to keep every trekker excited and delighted by its serenity.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu and Check-in at hotel
    Reach Kathmandu International Airport and our representative will meet you there and transfer you to the Hotel. The tour manager will meet you at the Hotel and brief all the participants about the trip, followed by a welcome dinner.
  • Day 2: Drive to Soti Khola
    We will drive to Soti Khola via a private car or bus and have lunch on the way. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours.
  • Day 3: Trek to Machha Khola
    Begin trek on a mule track and climb on stone steps that lead will lead you to a cliff. Descend down to Lapubesi and move towards Nauli Khola. Cross the suspension bridge and move along the Gandaki River to reach Machhi Khola. There might a slight re-route, away from the river with an alternate overnight stop in Kashi Gaun.
  • Day 4 : Trek to Jagat
    Trek along the Khorlabesi River and then a warm spring at Tatopani. Stay on the east side of Budi Gandaki to reach Doban, Thulo Dunga, and Yara Bagar. Cross the river multiple times through suspension bridges to reach the gateway of Manaslu Conservation Area and Jagat. You will see a flagstone village square in Jagat. We would need Restricted Area permits at the Conservation area office for entry.
  • Day 5: Trek to Deng
    Follow the trail to Salleri and Sirdibas above Jagat and stay on the arid trail. Trek past waterfalls to reach Ekle Bhatti followed by Lokpa. Continue on the Tsum Valley trail and climb above the junction of Budi Gandaki and Shar Khola. Move further ahead to reach Pewa and then, Deng. You will notice many damaged houses on the way that were affected because of the quake.
  • Day 6: Trek to Namrung
    Climb above the Tum Khola to reach Longa Chuta and enter a forest for fir and rhododendron. Witness birds, langurs, and monkeys on the northern side of Budi Gandaki. Trek towards the opposite side of the river to reach Namrung. This area was also badly affected by the 2015 earthquake and many lodges were destroyed.
  • Day 7: Trek to Sama Gaon
    The trail crosses through a series of valleys into rural Gompas, to reach Sama Gaon. You may visit interesting monasteries and their ruins around the village. Multiple buildings and lodges in this area were collapsed during the 2015 earthquake.
  • Day 8: Acclimatization at Sama Gaon
    Acclimatize at the location for a day or two and explore the area around Pugyen Gompa. We will also go for a day hike to a location between Syaula and Sama. The other options for day hike include; Moraine of Pugin glacier, Lake at Birendra Tal, and Manaslu Base Camp.
  • Day 9: Trek to Samdo
    We will again drop down to Budi Gandaki and pass the turnoff to Birendra Tal and Manaslu Base camp. The Valley broadens as we enter Kermo Khadka and you will have to follow a long route to reach the Gateway of Samdo. Walk up to a peak above the village to enjoy views of Manaslu and after this, you may trek to the moraine of Fukang glacier or stay the night at a lodge in Samdo.
  • Day 10: Trek to Dharamshala
    Trek through the fields and climb towards the Larkya-La to enjoy spectacular views of Manaslu and Syacha glacier. You might spot blue sheep trek towards Dharamshala. This is the last area where you will find shelters before the pass. The area is prone to snowfall and some of the lodges in the area might be closed.
  • Day 11: Trek to Bimtang
    Commence the 3-5 hour trek to Larkya-Lam the highest point of this trek. The route is usually windy and cold; therefore it is important to check the weather conditions before leaving from Samdo. The trail has cairns but navigation gets tough, as they get covered by snow. Trek towards the moraine of four frozen lakes and then ascent towards the pass. Witness a line-up of mesmerizing snow-covered peaks: Annapurna II, Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru, and Himlung Himal. Trek towards the west through a slippery path to reach Taubuche. Eventually, the trail gets easier and you will notice the widening valley. Drop down to Bimtang and follow the trail to reach the crystalline glacial lake of Pungkar Tal.
  • Day 12: Trek to Dharapani
    Head down to Dudh Khola and Soti Khola, while enjoying stunning scenery. Trek towards the ridge followed by the river bank and then the village of Gho. You will notice the green landscape as you cross through fields and forests along the north bank of Dudh Khola. Move further through the Tilche village, Kani and a stream to reach Thonje. Cross a suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi River and descend towards Dharapni.
  • Day 13: Drive from Dharapani to Kathmandu via Beshisahar
    Board the jeep from Dharapani and reach Beshisahara for lunch. We will board a bus from Beshisahar to Kathmandu and reach the hotel for a farewell dinner.
  • Day 14: Departure
    Our staff will drop you at the Kathmandu International Airport for departure.

The organizer can cancel or modify the itinerary if required. Depending upon the weather conditions, health conditions of members, natural disasters or extreme cases, the organizer may make changes to the itinerary for safety and security of the group.
