Tilicho Base Camp Trek is a brilliant package of trekking in the Annapurna Region, Manang, and Mustang, through the Thorong La Pass and you get the opportunity to visit the highest altitude lake in the world - the Tilicho Lake.
You get to see a village constructed in the Tibetan-style during the trek and the opportunity to visit temples and water spouts in Muktinath — the place which is equally religiously important to Buddhists and Hindus.
There will be a sudden change in the climate to your way to Manang with a drier and cold climate. This is the perfect package for the trekkers who want to experience walking in a relatively underrated area and the ones who are seeking adventure.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will meet our staff at the airport and you will reach hotel in a complementary vehicle. The guide will brief you about the hotel, trekking and other required information. This day does not include meal and your overnight stay will be in the hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Syange
You will have your breakfast and then drive will lead you towards the beautiful Pokhara highway. The route gets diverted from Dumre town towards north to Besisahar just a few hours before the road leads to Pokhara. Your overnight stay will be in Besisahar which is a large town and the district headquarters of Lamjung region.
Day 3: Trek to Dharapani
Your trekking will start from Besisahar. The trail is steep for half an hour and will lead you to farm terrace fields. From here, you will get to Chamje village as you walk along some local villages. From Chamje, you will have to cross a bridge before another climb to Tal. The trek gets easier as you will leave Tal. After you cross the bridge, you will reach the village of Dharapani. Your overnight stay will be in Dharapani.
Day 4: Trek to Chame
You will then climb through forests to Bagarchhap and the first village on the trek which has typical Tibetan architecture. You will reach the apple country at Dhanaqi and the alpine region passing through farm area. You will have views of Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks. Then the trail will follow the river Marsyangdi upstream passing by the villages of Ratamanang and Koto before Chame. From Koto, it is half an hour of walking to the village town of Chame for the overnight stop.
Trek 5: Trek to Pisang
After leaving Chame, the path will pass through pine woods and small villages with few ups and downs from where you will reach Bratang. The trek will continue on the gradual path to a bridge, a short steep climb through the pine forest will get you at the top of the ridge of Pisang village. From this ridge a descent for an hour will bring you to the village of Pisang.
Trek 6: Trek to Manang
The walk will be steeply up for half an hour, after a short walk from the Pisang village then you will reach the top of a small hill. The walk from here will be on the downhill and gradual path all the way to Hongdae. From Hongdae the trek will be more or less flat on the wide trail most of the way to Manang, which will add altitude as you will come near the village of Braga and Manang. From here the walk will be for an hour to Manang for an overnight stay.
Trek 7: Rest at Manang
You will rest, acclimatize and explore Manang on this day.
Trek 8: Manang to Tilicho Base Camp
The trail will climb along a ridge and hillside to Khangsar. The village offers a rare view of the peak of Kang Guru that dominates the Nar Phu trek.
Trek 9: Hike to Tilicho
You will hike to Tilicho Lake and will get back to the base camp trek to Shree Kharka in 6 - 7 hrs.
Trek 10: Shree Kharka to Yak Kharka
After spending time at Shreekharka the trail will lead to a slow climb for an hour, after the last village of Manang. The trail will head up in the barren windswept terrain and come to a small settlement of Yak-Kharka. Your overnight stay will be in Yak-Kharka.
Trek 11: Trek to Thorong High Camp
The trail will lead to a slow climb up from here, and then reach at Thorong Phedi for an overnight. After lunchtime, you will continue on the zig-zag track to Upper Phedi or High Camp.
Trek 12: Trek to Muktinath via Thorong
You will start early after breakfast,. The trail from Phedi follows on the gravel path, which can be stressful on the zig-zag path. Then you will reach Thorong-la, which has a beautiful view of the Himalayas. You will descend to the village of Muktinath.
Trek 13: Trek to Jomsom
After Muktinath, you will continue your journey to the Kaligandaki river valley floor. The walk from is on the gentle trail for two hours till you reach the town of Jomsom. You will walk for another two hours from Jomsom and come to Marpha for an overnight stop.
Trek 14: Drive or fly to Pokhara
You will have a 30-minute morning flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. You will reach your hotel from the airport in Pokhara. You will have a sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley in the afternoon.
Trek 15: Drive to Kathmandu
You will reach Pokhara domestic airport which is a drive of 7 hours. You will fly back to Kathmandu and our representative will receive you there and drive back to the hotel.
Drive 16: Tribhuvan International Airport
After having your breakfast, you will be dropped at the airport by our representative.
