Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan Internation Airport, where our representative will meet you and drop at the hotel via a private taxi. The trek manager will brief all the guests about the trek, followed by a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Get up for an early Breakfast and leave for sightseeing in Kathmandu at 08:30 AM. The guide will pick the guests via private taxis.

Day 3: Kathmandu-Bhadrapur (By air) and Drive to Suketar
Catch an early morning flight to Bhadrapur, which is followed by a 7 hour drive to Suketar. Stay overnight.

Day 4: Trek to LaliKharka
Trek through a village and enjoy lunch at a local place. Continue the trek through a lush forest and reach the guesthouse in Lali Kharka for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Trek to KandeBhanjyang
Get up for an early breakfast and walk along an easy trail till Simbu. Then the road continues up a steep climb via forests and small villages until Kande Bhanjyang where you will stay overnight.

Day 6: Trek to PumpheDanda
Start trekking on a steel hillside, crossing terraced fields above the KabbeliKhola. Halt under a shaded spot for lunch and continue hike towards Anpan village. Descend down to Kashawa Khola and ascend again via terraced fields to reach Pumphe Danda for overnight stay.

Day 7: Trek to Yamphudin
Climb on the hillside above Kabeli Khola, passing through ridges and streams. The trail gets flat eventually and levels with the stream. Halt at a beautiful river for lunch and spend time at this idyllic spot. Continue trek to Ghunsa village that will lead you to Yamphudin.

Day 8: Trek to Tortong
Enjoy the enticing views of the Himalayas as you cross through pleasant forests, on your way to Amji Khola. Cross Lassiya Bhanjyang pass to reach Tortong for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Trek to Ramche
Follow a trail along the river, passing through a beautiful Rhododendron forest followed by a sharp descent to Simhua Khola valley. Pass through the snout of Yalung Glaciers and enjoy breathtaking sceneries of frozen lakes, crystal clear streams, Koktang, Rathong, and Kabru. You will feel an increase in the altitude as you reach Ramche.

Day 10: Explore Ramche and Trek to Oktang
Get up early to explore the Ramche Valley and capture stunning views of the Kanchenjunga and Jannu. Trek across the Yalung Ri glacier and follow a swift curve at Oktang. Witness the breathtaking views of the mountains and glaciers.

Day 11: Trek to Yalung Ri Base Camp
Climb further up, crossing high passes and a difficult trail to reach the Yalung Ri base camp. The rewarding path, offers mesmerizing views of Mt. Kumbakarna, Nyukla Lachung and other peaks.

Day 12: Trek to Ramche
Trek back to Ramche crossing magnificent glaciers, frozen lakes and series of valleys. Overnight stay at the guest house is planned for all the guests.

Day 13: Trek to Sele La via Mirgin La
Trek down the valley, follow a steep climb towards south of Kanchenjunga and cross false summits to reach Mirgin La. Halt over there for lunch and continue a tough trek, beyond the Sele la pass to reach the campsite. Enjoy majestic views of Mt. Makalu, Gyakung Kang, Everest, Lhotse and Chamalang.

Day 14: Trek to Ghunsa
Trek downwards through a rhododendron and pine forest to reach the largest village of the valley- Ghunsa. This Tibetan village is a picturesque location with prayer flags all around, two monasteries, and wooden houses. Overnight stay a guesthouse is arranged.

Day 15: Trek to Kambachen
This is an ascending trek towards the south of this village, crossing floodplains and pastures at the river. The trail includes a steep climb and a gradual descent to Lakeport. Continue the trek through a small Tibetan settlement area, surrounded by mountains to reach Kambachen.

Day 16: Trek to Lhonak
Trek through rocky fields to reach Ramtang and halt over there. Cross the northwest of Kanchenjunga glacier to reach Lhonak. Camp between the boulders and enjoy pretty vistas of the mountains. Water is scarce at the location, so should be used wisely. Overnight stay at Lhonak is arranged.

Day 17: Trek to Pang Pema
Gradual ascend across the plains, followed by steep trail to Pang pema. Pang Pema is the base for expeditions to Kanchenjunga and gives the perfect view of the peak.

Day 18: Explore Kanchenjunga Base camp and return to Kambachen
Early morning hike through a ridge, to the north of Pang Pema. Explore great views of Kanchenjunga, Wedge peak, twins and tent peak. Return to Kambachen for overnight stay.

Day 19: Trek to Ghunsa
Retrace the previous route and trek to Ghunsa village. You’ll stay overnight at a guest house.

Day 20: Trek to Amjilosa
Trek for an hour to reach Phale village and witness monasteries and Juniper forest. Pass through grassy hillsides and reach Amjilosa.

Day 21: Trek to Sakathum
There is a short climb, followed by a deep descent to reach the junction of Tamur and Ghunsa Kholas. Observe beautiful waterfalls on the way and follow the trail that leads to Sakathum for overnight stay.

Day 22: Trek to Chirwa
Cross Simbhu Khola and come to a lower altitude. Witness the pleasant warm weather in shaded forest. Trek through small tributary streams and villages to reach Chirwa.

Day 23: Trek to Taplejung
Head to Taplejung, via a lush forest with exotic flora and fauna. Reach Taplejung after 8-9 hours of trek and overnight stay in this picturesque village.

Day 24: Drive to Bhadrapur
Drive through small and beautiful villages to reach Bhadrapur after 9-10 hours of drive.

Day 25: Flight to Kathmandu
Board the flight to Kathmandu and enjoy bird’s eye view of the Himalayas.

Day 26: Departure
Our staff will drop you at the international airport for departure.

Good to Know

  • Accommodation:
    We will offer 3-star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu for 3 nights. For the rest of the expedition, basic rooms will be provided on twin sharing basis in Lodge/Teahouses. The guest would have to adjust in a homestay after Kambachen.
  • Meals:
    All the meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be provided during the trek. The usual meals would be made using rice, lentils, and vegetable curries. We advise our guests to carry water purification pills or you also have the option to buy bottled water.
  • Transportation:
    Transportation for transfers from the airport, sightseeing in Kathmandu, and jeep travel from Bhadrapur to Suketaar, would be provided by us. Flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and back is also included in the package.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

Get up for an early breakfast and walk along an easy trail till Simbu. Then the road continues up a steep climb via forests and small villages until Kande Bhanjyang where you will stay overnight.

Day 6: Trek to PumpheDanda
