Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival Lhasa Airport and Transfer to downtown Lhasa
    All the guests will be welcomed by our tour guides at the airport and escorted to Lhasa via a private van. You will enjoy scenic views of the Brahmaputra and giant stone-carved Buddha during the drive.
  • Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
    Today we will enjoy a sightseeing tour in Lhasa and visit the Potala Palace, Jokang Temple,  and the ancient Bharkor street.
    Potala Palace is a sacred monument which was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century.
    Jokang Temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet and located in the heart of Lhasa.
    Bharkor Street is a pilgrimage site and has attractive markets for Tibetan artifacts, antiques, religious stuff, clothing, food, and much more.
  • Day 3: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
    We will begin by visiting the largest monastery in Tibet, the Drepung Monastery and witness the beautiful uphill location. After this, we will visit the Sera Monastery and the Ani Tsangkung nunnery.
  • Day 4 : Drive Lhasa to Drathang fresco to Langthang Dewachen
    After enjoying breakfast, we will begin with our drive along the Lhasa River towards Drathang fresco. Cross through a tunnel, beautiful villages, and the Yarlung Tsangpo to eventually reach the Drathang County. Visit the less-visited Drathang Fresco monastery and continue to drive to Langthan Dewachen via Chedishol.
  • Day 5: Trek from Langthang Dewachen to Eagle Nest to Lhamachen
    Today we will begin our trekking tour and move along the Kangon and Jiekang villages for 30 minutes. Cross a bridge and a gorge until you reach a herder’s camp, from where we will enter a valley and move towards the eagle nest. We will stop at eagle nest for lunch and trek on the steep valley to reach Lhamachen.
  • Day 6: Trek from Lhamachen to Jeshul La to Kangru Monastery to Yamdrok lake
    Ascend on a steep trail towards Jeshul La pass for 3 hours and enjoy mesmeric views of Yamdrok Lake and Kurla Gangri from the top. Trek downhill towards the herder’s camp and enjoy lunch there. We will trek for one hour from here and reach the Kangru Monastery. Continue to walk through Tibetan villages and witness people in traditional dresses. We will spend the night at a campsite beside the Yamdrok lakeshore.
  • Day 7: Trek from Renpoesur to Bacho and halfway drive
    Begin the trek after breakfast and move across the Gyoklei La pass for one hour. From here, we will drive to Khapa village and begin the second half of the trek through Khapa village and Lhunposhol village. We will enter a beautiful area of small bushes and grassland at Bacho.
  • Day 8: Trek from Bacho to Drago
    Trek through the grasslands of Bacho and witness wild animals, nomad camps, and Sokei village on your way to Drago.
  • Day 9: Trek from Drago to Rakar Ranag
    Today we will trek up the valley and cross the Cheri Zangla pass. Cross the Nera Nomad Camp and move towards Rakar Ranag to witness gorgeous ponds and snow covered mountains.
  • Day 10: Trek from Rakar Ranag to Shagdi Gompa
    Trek through the Shawashung grassland and see flocks of Kyang, Yaks, and other wild animals. If lucky, we may also spot snow leopard. We will reach Shagdi Gompa be evening and spend the night there.
  • Day 11: Trek from Shagdi Gompa to Rongpaza
    Today we will cross two high passes- Jachila (5,150 m) and Kurla (5,070 m). The climb to these passes is easy, and you will witness the distant view of the Mt. Nojing Kangsang and the Yamdrok Lake. Continue trek towards a rocky hill and visit the sacred cave in Rongpaza.
  • Day 12: Drive from Rongpaza to Gyantse
    We will meet our drivers here and bid farewell to the camping crew. Drive towards the Taglungtownship and follow the Yamdrok Lake between Gyangtse and Lhodark.  Visit the Taglung Monastery and witness the Guru Rinpoche statue. Continue journey to Gyantse through the Karola pass and stop for lunch on the way. We will also cross the Simila pass and eventually reach Gyantse for an overnight stay.
  • Day 13: Gyantse to Shigatse
    We will enjoy breakfast early, and leave the hotel by 10:00 AM and walk towards the Palchoe monastery. Explore the Palchoe monastery and Kubum stupa. Drive to Shigatse by afternoon and we will cross the largest farming land of Tibet. We will visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and the Shigatse Dzong on the way.
  • Day 14: Drive from Shigatse to Rongbuk
    Today we will drive to Rongbuk, crossing the Tsola pass and Gyatso la pass. We will be able to the Mount Everest from a distance from the foothills of Gyatso la pass. From Dingri, the road gets little dusty and after 2 hours of drive, we will reach the Rongbuk monastery.
  • Day 15: Explore Everest Base Camp and trek to Old Tingri
    Begin trek from the Rongbuk monastery around 09:00 AM and enjoy breakfast on the way, with a beautiful view of the sunrise from the Mt. Everest. Visit the gorgeous cave of Mila Repa during the trek and enjoy mesmeric views of the Mt. Everest from here. We will have lunch at the Everest Base camp and trek back to Rongbuk monastery. Drive for 70 km and reach Old Tingri for an overnight stay.
  • Day 16: Drive to friendship bridge to Kathmandu
    Start the day at 08:30 AM and drive through Lalung la pass and Thongla pass. Bid farewell to the Himalayan mountain range as we go down the valley through Nyalam gorge towards the friendship bridge. Walk over the friendship bridge and depart to Nepal.

All types of traveling permits will be taken care of by the organizer of the trek. The winter season marks the arrival of different festivals in Tibet which is why it is always a good idea to travel during the winter though the weather remains extremely cold.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival Lhasa Airport and Transfer to downtown Lhasa

  • Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
    Today we will enjoy a sightseeing tour in Lhasa and visit the Potala Palace, Jokang Temple,  and the ancient Bharkor street.

  • Day 5: Trek from Langthang Dewachen to Eagle Nest to Lhamachen

  • Day 16: Drive to friendship bridge to Kathmandu
    Start the day at 08:30 AM and drive through Lalung la pass and Thongla pass. Bid farewell to the Himalayan mountain range as we go down the valley through Nyalam gorge towards the friendship bridge. Walk over the friendship bridge and depart to Nepal.
