Trip Overview

The Everest Base Camp trekking is a thrilling experience for the mountain lovers and one of the greatest expeditions in the Himalaya region. Immerse yourself in the spectacular views of the Everest and other snow-covered Himalayan peaks. This trek follows an interesting trail that has been used by famous climbers over the years. The two-week trip to the Everest Base Camp will take you through the Himalayan wilderness, famous monasteries, Kala Pathar viewpoint, and ethnic villages of Namche, Dingboche, and Pangboche. Get acquainted with the true Sherpa Culture and visit the legendary Everest Base Camp, where most mountaineers prepare to climb this might peak.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu and check-in at hotel
    Our representatives and drivers will receive all the guests at Tribhuban International Airport Kathmandu and transfer everyone to the hotel. Meet with the team for initial briefing and explore the nearby area. Enjoy early supper in the evening, followed by a good night’s sleep.
     
  • Day 2: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding
    Get up early around 02:00-03:00 AM and drive to Manthali airport to board the flight to Lukla. Witness a scenic 35-minute flight over high mountainous peaks of the Khumbu region and meet with the porters and other staff members upon arrival. Begin trekking along the Dudh Koshi River and reach Phakding for an overnight stay at a teahouse.
     
  • Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazar
    Enjoy early breakfast, and commence trekking towards Namche Bazar. Follow the Dudh Koshi River and trek through splendid forests, airy bridges, and ethnic villages of Benkar, Monjo, and Jorsale. The trail will get slightly steep and halfway up this ascent; we will be able to see the Mt. Everest. Reach Namche Bazaar and witness the weekly market, which is famous for Tibetan souvenirs, restaurants, coffee shops, and other stores. We will stay the night in a hotel or a teahouse.
     
  • Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Namche
    This day is reserved for acclimatization, and we will enjoy delicious breakfast in the morning followed by a short hiking tour to Khumjung, Thame Village, or the Airstrip in Shyangboche. Capture stunning views of Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks. Head towards a monastery through Khumjung and return to the hotel/teahouse for an overnight stay.
     
  • Day 5: Trek to Tengboche
    Today, we will descend to the river line and trek past a small settlement of Phunki Tenga, followed by a steep climb through a forest. We will reach Tengboche by noon and visit a famous monastery. The majestic peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam provides a stunning backdrop to the teahouse, where we will spend the night at an altitude of 3,870m.
     
  • Day 6: Trek to Dingboche
    Enjoy breakfast and hike through a dense forest of birch, coniferous, and rhododendrons trees, along with magnificent views of the Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trail drops down to Debouche across the Imja River and through the villages of Pangboche. Trek past the old Pangboche Monastery and enter the Imja valley to reach Dingboche. Enjoy splendid views of barley, buckwheat, and potato fields, surrounded by stonewall, and spend the night in a teahouse lodge.
     
  • Day 7: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche
    We will acclimatize at Dingboche and enjoy day hikes to Nagarjun Hill or Chukkhung valley to enjoy magnificent views of Makalu, Lhotse, Cholatse, Tawache, and Ama Dablam. There is also an option to climb halfway to the peak of Nangkartshang at 5,100m.
     
  • Day 8: Trek to Lobuche
    After breakfast, we will follow a steep trail through a Chorten and reach the moraine of Khumbu glacier. We will haul at this spot for some time and enjoy tea and refreshments. After this, we will climb up to Chupki Lhara and follow a gradual trail to Lobuche. From here, we can either check into a teahouse for rest or enjoy a short hike to lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier to witness the mesmeric sunset.
     
  • Day 9: Trek to Gorakshep and visit Everest Base Camp
    This will be a challenging day for us and we will begin trekking early. Head towards the Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep and follow a stony path for 2-3 hours to reach the destination. We will take a break at Gorakshep and enjoy tea and refreshments. From here, the trail ascends on the side of the glacier for some hours and finally descends into the rocky glacial moraine. We will eventually reach the Everest Base Camp and enjoy upfront views of Khumbu Ice Fall and Nuptse towers. Retrace your steps back to Gorakshep and stay the night at a teahouse. 
     
  • Day 10: Trek to Kala Pathar and Pangboche
    Begin the trek early towards Kala Pathar and enjoy views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse peak on the way. Click beautiful pictures of the breathtaking Mt. Everest and trek back to Pangboche via Pheriche, for an overnight stay.
     
  • Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar
    Descend through a ridge, covered with rhododendron and juniper trees, and cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Trek through another forest of pine trees and cross Sanasa to finally reach the bustling Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay.
     
  • Day 12: Trek to Lukla
    Follow a descending path and cross some suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River to reach Lukla. Enjoy a special dinner ceremony with the team and spend the night in a teahouse.
     
  • Day 13: Flight to Kathmandu
    Today, we will catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu and do some souvenir shopping, upon arrival. Enjoy a special farewell dinner at a restaurant and spend the night at a hotel.
     
  • Day 14: Departure
    After breakfast, our drivers and representatives will drop all the guests to the Kathmandu International Airport for departures, marking the end of this wonderful trek.
