Reaching the summit of a peak is every trekker’s dream. This trek to the unexplored summit of Yunam Peak at 6,111 m will turn your wishes to reality. Push beyond your trekking experience and immerse in the stunning sights from the top of Yunam Peak. This trek tour commences from Manali and will take you through the famous Baralacha Pass, the highest motorable pass of the region. The main trek begins after the pass and we will halt at Bharatpur Base Camp and Summit Camp to prepare for the climb to Yunam Peak. Witness stunning views of the cold deserted Lahaul Valley and Chandra Bhanga range from the summit. This trek also gives you the opportunity to explore Naggar Castle, Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, and India’s Highest Zipline in Manali. The scenic drive from Jispa to Bharatpur Base Camp will take you through the sacred Lahaul Valley Deepak Taal Lake and Surya Taal Lake. Explore the unexplored summits and go beyond your abilities.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival at Base Camp
    Our representatives will pick all the guests from the Airport or Bus station in Naggar-Manali, and escort them to the Nature base Camp by 11:00 AM. The representatives will brief all the guests about the upcoming program. The rest of the day is free, and the guests can spend leisure time in the village or visit Naggar Castle, Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, and India’s Highest Zipline. We will spend the night at Manali Nature Camp.
  • Day 2: Manali to Jispa
    We will begin the day with a sightful drive to Keylong and cross the snow-covered Rohtang Pass. We will exit the hustle and bustle of Manali and enter a more isolated place of Keylong. Witness the pristine landscape and enjoy a short acclimatization walk to prepare for the upcoming days.
  • Day 3: Jispa to Bharatpur Base Camp
    Today’s day will include a 4-5 hour drive to Jispa, from where we will begin our trek towards Bharatpur Base Camp. We will stop at Lahaul Valley Deepak Taal Lake and Surya Taal Lake during the drive and enjoy scenic views of the sacred lakes. This drive will take us through the highest motorable mountain pass, Baralacha La, and we will reach Bharatpur Base Camp by noontime. We will set up our campsite at Bharatpur and practice a few climbing techniques.
  • Day 4 : Acclimatization day and load ferry to Summit Camp
    This day is reserved for acclimatization and preparation of the summit camp. We will do a load ferry to our Summit Camp. Today’s trail is slightly uphill with a rocky surface, and we will witness various boulders and moraines on the way. The trek to Summit camp can take up to 4-5 hours.
  • Day 5: Establishing Summit Camp
    Continue on the same route and carry the luggage for the setup of camp. We will reach the destination before lunchtime and sleep on time, as we will have to get up early the next day.
  • Day 6: Summit Day and Back to Summit Camp
    We will have to get up at 03:00 AM, to begin with, our adventure. The total distance will be around 6.5 km and it will take around 8 hours to cover. We will have to climb through thick layers of snow and make good use of crampons. The trail will be full of moraines, sharp rock edges, and a large amount of snow. We will reach the camp after an enduring stretch and will be rewarded with glorious sights of the CB group and Mulkila range of mountains. We will descend back to the Summit camp for an overnight stay.
  • Day 7: Summit to Bharatpur Base Camp and drive to Naggar Base Camp
    We will descent down a rocky terrain for 2-3 hours to reach the Bharatpur Base camp. The trek staff will pick all the guests in a private vehicle and transfer everyone to Naggar Base Camp.
  • Day 8: Checkout
    The guests will have to checkout at 10:00 AM, marking the end of this amazing trek tour.

Good to Know

This trek requires a good level of physical fitness and the ability to trek for prolonged hours. The guests will be given a proper briefing of the trip and training for climbing the summit. Nutritous vegetarian meals will be served during the trek.
