Trip Overview

Nestled between the top three highest mountain passes in the world and widely known as the adventure capital of the county is Ladakh. This destination will not disappoint your thirst for isolated adventure spots. This is a 15-day trip which includes 8 days trekking. The best time to visit this place is from June to September.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at the Delhi airport                                                      

A representative will meet at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. If your flight will be on time, then you may go for a sound and light show in the evening at the Red Fort.

Day 02: Flight for Leh

On this day, you’ll get an early morning flight for Leh. You’ll get a whole day for acclimatization. In the evening you will go to visit Leh bazaar and stay in the hotel overnight.

Day 03: A day in Leh

On this day you’ll go for sightseeing and also visit the capital of Ladakh. You’ll get leisure time to prepare yourself for the trek. You’ll stay here overnight.

Day 04: From Leh to Tsomoriri

You’ll be driven to Tsomoriri. If you wish to spend maximum time here before the trek, you can explore the lake area. Breakfast will be arranged at Upshi. Here you’ll camp overnight.

Day 05: From Korzok to Kyangdam

You’ll start trekking this day. It is an easy trek along the lakeside. You’ll reach the other end of the lake at the campsite for an overnight stay at Kyangdam. 

Day 06: From Kyangdam to Skitpodangsa or Nurboo Sumdo

On this day you’ll cross the river and start trekking towards the plain grounds on the east. After walking for 2 hours, you’ll reach Skitpodangsa just across the river. You’ll camp here overnight.

Day 07: From Skitpodangsa to Getpabuzak

It is an easy walk along with Parangchu. The campsite is just before the slopes. You’ll stay here overnight.

Day 08: From Getpabuzak to Tarangyokma

You’ll start trekking to pass the slopes. After a while, you’ll cross tributaries to reach the campsite. You’ll stay here overnight.

Day 09: From Tarangyokma to Karsha Gompa or Parang La Base

On this day you have to walk in the same direction until you cross the rock. After that you’ll cross the river to reach Parang La. You’ll stay here in the camp overnight.

Day 10: From Tarangyokma to Takkarzong

On this day you’ll cross Parang-la pass and that too, through a glacier. After that, you’ll reach the campsite which is nearby a waterfall. At the end of September and October, it dries up; in that case you have to carry water from the Parang base.

Day 11: From Takkarzong to Thagltak

You’ll start walking towards the river. After crossing the river, you’ll reach Thagltak. The campsite is on the hill. You’ll stay here overnight.

Day 12: From Thagltak to Kibber

It is 3 hours walking towards the east. Here you can see Kibber villages across the river. After walking for half an hour from Kibber to Key, you’ll stay here overnight at the campsite.

Day 13: From Kibber to Manali

You’ll get a drive from Kibber to reach Manali. You’ll stay in the hotel overnight.

Day 14: A day in Kullu and Manali

You’ll get a whole day to explore these beautiful places. After that, you’ll stay at the hotel in Manali overnight.

Day 15: Board flight for Delhi

You’ll board a flight to Delhi from Kullu airport and a memorable trip will come to an end.

Good to Know

Food

You’ll get meals three times a day during your trek along with a variety of snacks and tea or coffee of your choice. In the hotel you’ll get meals there and during the trek, cook and helper will be available with all the equipment at the campsite. You may carry some packed food along with you. Please carry water bottles and water purification pills as bottled will not be available during the trek up in the mountains.

Accommodation

You’ll stay in hotels at Manali and Delhi. During the trekking, you may enjoy the sight of an endless sky filled with stars from the camp. Services are normal on the trek and campsite.

Physical fitness

It is an easy trek with a maximum of 4 to 5 hours of walking in a day. You do not need to be an athlete for going on this unforgettable experience. You may simply start jogging and carry out some light exercise a month before the trek to keep you fit.

Itinerary

Day 15: Board flight for Delhi

You’ll board a flight to Delhi from Kullu airport and a memorable trip will come to an end.
