Everest Gokyo Lake Trekking
Trip Overview
Behold majestic views of the Gokyo lake and valley which are located on Mount Everest, approximately 4, 7000 meters above sea level. Gokyo Lake trekking is an excellent alternative to the famous Everest Base Camp trekking. This trek is less crowded and challenging. It is also the ideal option If you want to walk around Everest region, see snowcapped mountains, encounter highland culture, experience local people’s hospitality, and visit one of the largest glaciers in the world. There is hardly a better adventure, right?
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to request category hotel accommodation in Kathmandu (1350m/4430ft).
Day 02: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2860m/9383ft), Trek to Phakding (2610m/8563ft, 04-05hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11287ft, 06-07hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 04: Acclimatization Day,Hike to Everest view hotel (3800m/12468ft) for sunrise or panoramic view of Everest Lhotse face, after lunch explore Sherpa and Hilary museum at modern village of Namche.
Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4110m/13485ft, 05 hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 06: Trek from Dole to Machherma (4470m /14665ft, 06hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 07: Trek from Machherma to Gokyo (4790m/15715ft, 06hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 08: Trek From Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5357m/17575ft, 06hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 09: Trek from Gokyo Ri to Luza (4360m/14304ft, 05hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 10: Trek from Luza to Khumjung (3970m/13025ft, 05hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 11: Trek from Khumjung to Monjo (2840m/9318ft, 06hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 12: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2860m/9383ft, 05hrs) Lodge accommodation.
Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (35minutes, scenic flight) and transfer to Hotel in Thamel.
Day 14: Free day at Kathmandu for shopping and explore around Thamel, farewell dinner with culture program In the evening.
Day 15: Drop to Airport for final departure, or Join alternative activities.
